Almond chocolate spread

For a cosy Advent brunch

  • 200g almonds
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 2 tbsp Maple syrup
  • 3-4 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (rapeseed oil or olive oil)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3-4 dates

Roast the almonds in the oven and then leave them to cool. Process the almonds in a blender or with a hand blender to make almond butter. Add maple syrup, water, oil and salt until everything is nice and creamy. Depending on the desired consistency, you can add more or less water. Finally, puree the dates briefly. My version still has chunks in it.
