Mountain Fruits Company (MFC) was founded in 2000 and is still the only Pakistani company that processes and exports organic and Fairtrade certified dried fruits, nuts and nut oils. The company grew out of a development project of the Aga Khan Foundation. It has maintained its original mission to improve and increase the income and scope of action of farmer groups in the remote Gilgit-Baltistan region.

Elements trades not only in cashews, but also in coffee, spices and coconut products.
The foundation stone for the entrepreneurial and socially strongly committed family business "Hylea1884" was laid by Friedrich Hecker in 1884 in the northeast of Bolivia, in Riberalta and Fortaleza: He built up the trade in natural rubber in the late 19th century. The family also pioneered Bolivian Brazil nut production and it is now one of the largest exporters of Brazil nuts in the world. From the beginning, the Hecker family took care of the concerns of the local population.

Sie begann ihre Geschäftstätigkeit mit der Trocknung von Mangos, indem getrocknete Früchte von Bauerngruppen bezogen und anschliessend geprüft, zugeschnitten und verpackt wurden. Aufgrund wiederholter Qualitätsmängel wurde jedoch zunehmend in eigene Anlagen investiert. Früh entstand die Idee, die saisonale Trockenmango-Produktion durch die ganzjährig mögliche Verarbeitung von Cashewnüssen zu ergänzen.
